Some strangers and some out of place birds in Angus

A strange crow at Keptie Pond, multiple Little Egrets, a Whooper Swan who doesn't like to migrate, a chase and an ugly Herring Gull that will one day turn into a beautiful adult.

Possible Carrion Crow/Hooded Crow hybrid? Keptie Pond, Arbroath

Little Egret, an impossible photo at distance (for me anyway)

4 Little Egrets, from the Lurgies to Miss Erskine's Bank

Mute Swan, Keptie Pond

Whooper Swan, still at the Lurgies

Grey Heron with Herring Gull in pursuit

Herring Gull chick that only a mother could love, West Links, Arbroath

Rota week again at the hide

The Jay family were introducing the young one/s to the plentiful supply of food at the hide feeders but were ever wary, the Siskins are a bit more tolerant of people watching. No more Jay photos for a while!

Speyside Swifts and a Goldeneye with a single duckling

A visit to Speyside to see relatives and not birds, but Swifts were nesting in roof spaces on some of the houses in the street and often were feeding above the roofs. Loch Alvie produced my first sighting of a Goldeneye duckling, unfortunately the only one with the adult female. A visit to an arts centre near Forres allowed me to nip off to Findhorn Bay and see the two Spoonbills there and three Hooded Crows were a bonus and most unexpected, one was in Forres.
