The HND Art Tour!!

I was diverted today to become a "tour guide" for Olive's favourite daughter who needed photos for her college work. (her other favourite daughter said it's OK for me to say that).

Just a few from the places where she hoped to gain inspiration and let Chris her muse see where she'd been! Her good looks have been pixelated for privacy.

The Bothy?

No, not another art photo, there is a Peregrine perched almost at the very top of the steeple in Montrose

Pintail drake at the far away end of Buddy's Pool at Murton. The paths are closed due to flooding.

A rather blue photo taken in strange light of a Red-breasted Merganser, one of a dozen in Ferryden Harbour

Brent Geese and others blown in again today.

Still grim up north (or east) but the birds keep coming. Today less Little Auks went through but still over 50 at Whiting Ness where 11 Brent Geese were feeding on the park. They were still there at dusk. Also seen at the Ness, a Great Northern Diver (wrongly thought to be a Black-throated earlier), a Little Gull, a few Kittiwakes and Purple Sandpipers.

Female Goosander, Keptie Pond, Arbroath. Added in for some colour on another grim day, but even this was photographed in the afternoon twilight.

50 Shades of Grey, the light today! Little Auks in abundance though.

Little Auks everywhere and 209 flew past northwards at Whiting Ness near the start of the cliffs at Arbroath today in only 40 minutes. Also seen and a bit unexpected a Great Skua, juvenile Gannet and a Red-breasted Merganser with Purple Sandpipers and Turnstones on the rocks, the sandpipers right amongst the spray zone.
